Testimonies:

Chuck (My intro to healing)

Lady at the eye doctor

Friend with the broken hand

Headaches at work

Healing of Dreama (Cancer and pneumonia)

Healing of friend of stomach, shoulder/neck, leg, and eyes

As believers, we are called to pray for others, including healing:

Find a sick person (crutches, bandages, limping, etc.)

They may not have a visible injury. Sometimes God will show you a pain in your own body, or give you a word of knowledge about them, or show you a picture in your mind)

Approach them.

Often, I simply start by saying hi, then ask them about their injury. Almost everyone will tell you what happened.

Give them a testimony of another healing, weather it is related or not. If you don’t have one, you can find several healing videos on YouTube by legit people. Todd White is one to start with, but there are many others.

Ask if you can pray for them.

When you pray, you command the sickness to leave in Jesus’ name. It is not done by begging or requesting. The same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives within you, and operates through you.

If they refuse to let you pray for them, tell them that Jesus loves them and so do you. That you care about them and their healing, and you will be praying for them yourself (and pray for them as you walk away). Never take a refusal personally, as they are not rejecting YOU. Love them anyway.

Ask them to test it out afterward, something they were not able to do before. This enables them to put faith in what God has done in a simple task. You can ask them a pain scale of where they were before (10 – extreme pain to 0 – no pain).

If they are completely better, praise God together.

If they are somewhat better, praise God for what He started and ask if you can pray again. Usually, the pain/injury gets better each time after that, but you want to go at it until it is completely gone.

If there is no improvement, ask if you can pray again. If after several times nothing happens, don’t take it personally, as neither of you have failed. Sometimes, answers may be delayed. Let them know that Jesus loves them, that you do too, and if you are comfortable, give them some contact information to follow up.

While you are praying, pay attention to what God whispers to you or any other pains in your own body that are not normal. There may be more things He wants to heal.

Lastly, it’s ok to pray for ourselves.

My own healing this morning

Ask if there is anyone watching that needs healing.

I was thinking this morning about a passage that’s been on my mind the last several months:

““Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’”

MATTHEW 7:21-23 NASB

There has been a nagging thought running through my mind during this time, and a fear along with it, am I going to stand before Christ and say these same words? Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not doubting my salvation, although my prayers have included “God, I ask that you know me.”

I want to not only perform miracles like He has gifted me with, but I also want to truly know God better each day. I trust what Christ did was fully enough to save me.

This morning, I was thinking of this passage again, and God placed this scripture on my mind about the thief on the cross:

“One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!” But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!” And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.””

LUKE 23:39-43 NASB

Our salvation is simple, and doesn’t include much more than simply placing our trust in Christ as the Messiah, acknowledging He has a Kingdom, and is the King of kings.

This simplicity compared to His judgement stating “Depart from me I never knew you” is crucial. Either we believe and acknowledge what Jesus says and did is enough, or we end up living in fear that it isn’t, and we are without excuse, even if we do the most miraculous things for and through Him.

It’s all about the value He places on us.

We determine that we got the better end of the deal when He gave His life for ours, as we may not feel we can offer something of value compared to Christ’s life in exchange.

The price is determined and agreed upon by multiple parties for payment of any item that is purchased.

What if He actually got the better end of the deal?

We are myopic based on our limitations of currently existing in time and space. He knows eternity past, present, and future. We don’t know what our final outcome in eternity with Him will truly look like. Here on earth in this life, we are limited to only giving Him our life, love, obedience, and worship. What will we be able to give Him in our true eternal form? Only He knows this, and I believe he saw that value from the very beginning. We are worth far more than we can realize in this life.

““The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.”

MATTHEW 13:44-46 NASB

I watched the sun rise again this morning and was inspired to write the following as I thought about God:

In the morning, You paint the clouds with amber light.
In the evening you set fire to the sunset.
The colors from your palate inspire the imagination of generations.
All art and beauty come from the words of your lips.
Your heart warms the coldest of valleys, and your presence draws us closer to it.
I am lost without you Lord. I am like a sheep wandering aimlessly.
But your rod and staff comfort and guide me like winds on a sail.
You bring me into an adventure more exciting than any book.
No tale told could ever capture what you have in store for me.
Your plans cannot be held in the world’s storehouses.
You are the best that has happened to me.
I long for your presence. I eagerly await your voice.
It soothes me and quiets my soul.
Nothing can compare to your goodness.
No one is wise enough to give you counsel.
The stars in the sky and elements in the universe are held in your hand.
Not one is forgotten, yet I get to have a relationship with you.
How wide, how vast, how deep is your love for me.
I can simply bow in awe of your magnificence.
You rule with a just heart. Your power is unparalleled.
Your righteousness strikes fear into your enemies.
Yet, you love people with equal passion.
No one can escape your love. All are called to know you.
You hold my heart in your hand, and my life is completely yours to use.
It is the only gift I have to offer you, and I offer it to you freely.
I am wholly yours. Make me more like you daily.
Let me not stray from your call.
Make my ears tuned to your voice.
Help my eyes be fixed on you and you alone.
Make my heart ever long for your presence.
Thank you for choosing me and leading me.
Let me not forget any part of my testimony.
You are everything I need.
You sustain me.
I am your child.
